The mobile games business is red hot, and all signs point to a future that’s “white hot.”


In 2020, consumers spent roughly $142 Billion on apps.  And of that, a whopping $100 Billion was spent on games.  Yes, an incredible 70% of all app spending occurred on, or I nside mobile game apps.

But while 2020 was a banner year for the industry, 2021 promises to be even greater as mobile game apps continue to dominate the revenue game.  But it’s not just the revenue game they’re dominating.  Mobile game apps are dominating the download game too.

In fact, in 2020, 36% of all app downloads were for games.  80 billion of 218 billion total downloads were for games.  Through the pandemic, consumers turned to their smart-phones for entertainment.  And they were more than willing to pay for it.  And pay for it they did… to the tune of $billions.

Now, even though growth in the mobile app busines in 2020 had been astonishing, early forecasts for 2021 show spending on mobile games could grow 20% or more.
