Even in a wild year geopolitically, there’s no stopping M&A deals in the video game industry

2022 has already broken records for deal value, and now French gaming company, Nacon is adding to the totals.

The company announced its acquisition of Daedalic Entertainment in a deal valued at $60 million.

Last year, Nacon acquired Big Ant Studios, Ishtar Games and Creature Studios. This year, it’s adding German gaming company, Daedalic to its portfolio, and more deals could be on the way.

Alain Falc, Chairman and CEO of Nacon said, “…Nacon and Daedalic share the same values and the same objectives to deliver unique experiences to gamers. Therefore, it seemed logical to go further together, and we’re extremely happy of this acquisition. It represents a significant step in Nacon’s strategy.”

While most of the media attention has focused on mega-deals in the gaming industry, like Microsofts deal for Activision, the smaller end of the market is just as hot.

So far this year, gaming deals have totaled over $85 billion, and are on pace to far eclipse $100 billion by the beginning of summer.
