Two of the world’s most popular games, “Fortnite” and “Fall Guys” now reside under one corporate roof, Epic Games.
Epic announced on Tuesday the 2nd of March its will be acquiring Tonic Games Group. The transaction value was undisclosed, but will make Epic a true gaming powerhouse. Tonic’s release of “Fall Guys” resulted in a smash hit and rose the eyebrows across the industry.
A representative of Tonic said, “joining forces with Epic will accelerate our plans to improve the game and bring ‘Fall Guys’ to as many players as possible, while continuing to support the community.”
The Epic Games maneuver comes as a wave of consolidation hits the gaming industry. It was recently announced that Electronic Arts is expected to buy Glu Mobile for $2.1 Billion. Over the course of the next few years, more acquisitions are expected.
