2020 was a banner year for the video game industry.
A record $13.2 billion in investments and M&A occurred, eclipsing 2019’s activity by a wide margin, up 77%.
Even during the height of the global pandemic, big deals in the video game industry were ongoing, making 2020 the biggest ever year for the industry.
There were more than 400 large investment made, as compared to 300 in the previous years.
There were 220 mergers & acquisitions, as compared to 200 in the previous years.
In 2020, 10 companies went public through an IPO.
And this year could prove to be an even bigger year for the industry.
